FUNDRAISING NEWS: Cancer charity nets double-fund bonus

Cancer charity the Laura Crane Trust has received £26,000 from its 'charity of the year' agreement with clothing retailer Outfit, and has signed up to continue the partnership for an extra year.

The charity, which was set up seven years ago after the death of its 17 year-old namesake, was expecting to receive only £13,000 from the partnership.

Outfit, owned by the Arcadia group, had pledged to raise £1,000 from each of its 13 stores in retail parks across England and Wales.

The Trust will use the money to improve the lives of young people staying in the 23 hospitals nationwide that treat adolescent cancer.
