FUNDRAISING NEWS: Capital Radio fund tops £1m for kids

Capital Radio's charity Help a London Child has raised more than £1 million for children's projects.

This month a record 514 projects will receive a grant from the children's charity thanks to the efforts of Capital Radio listeners and Help a London Child's team.

The grants will fund a wide range of projects including play outings for underprivileged children in the UK, sports and youth groups.

The money was raised through Help a London Child's 2002 appeal launched in March with the star-studded Capital Awards. The event was followed by a programme schedule on Capital and Capital Gold over the Easter weekend.
