Christian Aid is embarking on an online fundraising drive as part of this year's Christian Aid Week.
The charity hopes to raise more than £13 million for international development projects throughout the week of 12 May.
Christian Aid is running a viral email campaign through its internet service provider Fish.co.uk.
The email, which will go out to more than 20,000 subscribers, will contain a link to an interactive ad that encourages supporters to make donations online.
A series of banners and pop-up ads on national newspaper and other web sites will also drive traffic to a specially-designed donations site, which contains information on Christian Aid Week and the work it supports.
"Christian Aid Week was a real success last year and we hope that the online campaign will allow us to reach new supporters and raise awareness of the charity and the development projects we're supporting,
said Jeff Dale, head of central marketing at Christian Aid.
