FUNDRAISING NEWS: Clic cancer charity aims to raise £6m during coming year

Clic, the children's cancer and leukaemia charity, plans to raise £6 million during the coming year through a series of fundraising initiatives.

Clic is hiring a new director of fundraising who will expand the charity's community fundraising across the whole of the UK. The charity has fundraising projects in south-east England and Scotland, and aims to expand into the north during the next 12 months.

The charity will also generate income through a programme of donor development, which will see Clic increase its supporter base through new recruitment campaigns, including a kids' membership scheme.

"In the past, we've been very traditional in our fundraising, and it's time to move on,

said a Clic spokesperson. "We now want to establish ourselves as a national brand that can be recognised across the country. But first, we need to identify new ways of boosting our income to enable us to do this."
