Fundraising News: Finance firm joins CAF in giving deal

Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton has teamed up with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) to boost tax-efficient donations to charity.

Grant Thornton, the UK's fifth largest accountancy firm, will encourage clients, partners and staff of the firm to open a CAF Charity Account.

They will then be able to make tax-efficient donations to their favourite charities.

Through the account, CAF can increase the balance by claiming back 28p for every £1 given from the Treasury. At present, only one in three donations to charity is tax-efficient. As an added incentive, for Grant Thornton clients who deposit £1,000 or more into a CAF account, CAF will donate 1 per cent of its standard deduction to the account.
