FUNDRAISING NEWS: Firefighters launch Twin Towers appeal

UK and New York firefighters are to raise funds for The Running Fitness Twin Towers Appeal.

The appeal was launched last week by representatives of the US and UK fire services, following a minute's silence in Trafalgar Square to remember the victims of the terrorist attack.

The appeal extends to four charities: NYC Fire Department's EL Sasser Fund for Widows and Children, Britain's Fire Services National Benevolent Fund, Care International and Cruse Bereavement Care.

Donors for the appeal will be among 20,000 runners taking part in the British Golden Jubilee 10K run on Sunday 21 July.
