Bids for the week-long auction of the Daewoo Kalos 1.2 Xtra five-door family hatchback car, which retails at £6,995, started at £1.
The initiative is one of a raft of ideas from the car manufacturer.
Last Friday, it distributed 100 of its Tachuma vehicles, valued at £1m, to NCH projects across the UK.
The five-seater cars will be used to ferry children around the charity's 500 projects nationwide.
Denis Chick, public affairs manager at GM Daewoo, said that the vehicles would act as a catalyst to raising funds for the charity. "Retailers have been instructed to come up with fundraising ideas, with awards going to the best."
Current plans include tempting people to have their car winter-safety checked for £1 and retailers clubbing together for a summer golfing tournament.
Chick said he hoped the partnership would last beyond its scheduled two years: "We are grateful for the support," said Gordon Edington, chairman of NCH. "The use of 100 Tachumas for our projects around the UK is not only generous but also extremely practical. They will provide much-needed mobility for the children and families we support in communities where there are often very few other transport alternatives."
As General Motors took over Daewoo last year to form GM Daewoo, the partnership with NCH represents the company's first move into charitable giving. "We decided to focus on one charity whose brand shared our family values," said Chick, "And NCH impressed us, partly because they spend 92p in every £1 received on services to children."
