FUNDRAISING NEWS: Hamilton's G-string sold off for Crusaid

A white G-string belonging to Christine Hamilton, wife of former Tory MP Neil Hamilton, was bought for £110 at an auction of celebrity goods for the benefit of the HIV and Aids charity Crusaid last Tuesday.

More than £8,000 was raised in total, with the largest single sum of £1,500 coming from the sale of a holiday for two in South Africa. A Justin Timberlake CD was sold for £700 and a football signed by the Chelsea team for £200.

The designer Vivienne Westwood contributed some jewellery, and other items came from the pop group The Pet Shop Boys and singer Danni Minogue.
