FUNDRAISING NEWS: Maggie's calls on public to munch in support of centre

Scottish cancer care charity Maggie's is asking people to "munch

to raise money for a new cancer centre in Scotland.

Maggie's has put together a celebrity recipe pack called Maggie's Munch, which will be sent out to various support groups in Scotland. The charity is hoping that the pack will inspire people to raise funds for the new cancer centre in Inverness by encouraging them to have a "munch

or a drink.

The recipes include Robbie Coltrane's apple chicken casserole, Lorraine Kelly's tuna pasta, Magaret Thatcher's calvados pheasants, Stephen Fry's honey buns, Kate Winslet's salmon teriyaki style and Luciano Pavarotti's pasta penne rigate with melon and mint.

The initiative is part of an appeal to raise £1 million for Maggie's Highlands centre, which is being built next to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

A total of £500,000 still needs to be raised before the centre can be completed.
