FUNDRAISING NEWS: NCH benefits from old mobile phones

Clothing retailer Peacocks is launching a mobile phone recycling scheme to support children's charity NCH.

The company's 350 outlets stock freepost envelopes for old mobile phone handsets, and for each set acquired, NCH receives a £3.50 donation. Peacocks customers also benefit from 10 per cent off their next purchase over £10.

"The scheme is part of our commitment to the community and environment in which we operate,

said a spokesperson.

The phones will be recycled by extracting all materials such as copper and nickel that are harmful to the environment.
