FUNDRAISING NEWS: NCH reaps reward of financial group's fundraising drive

Countrywide Assured Group's "Give as you earn

employee donation scheme has exceeded its £250,000 target for children's charity NCH by nearly £50,000.

The figure was reached through employee donations and fundraising events including a Ben Nevis challenge.

Around £175,000 was raised through payroll giving excluding the Government's 10 per cent top-up scheme. While Countrywide's estate agent network, which includes Bairstow Eves, sold pin-badges to customers, and for every £1 raised by staff, £1 was donated by Countrywide.

The financial services group has also provided the charity with three minibuses to service NCH projects around the UK, giving vulnerable children and their carers greater flexibility and freedom.

Harry Hill, group chief executive of Countrywide, said: "We owe a debt of gratitude to the enthusiasm of our staff, both in direct giving through their salaries and in the other fundraising activities."
