FUNDRAISING NEWS: Pop Idols concert makes £300,000

The Pop Idols gig held in London in aid of The Prince's Trust raised more than £300,000 for the young people's charity.

The money will go towards programmes that help young people develop skills, provide them with work opportunities and encourage young business start-ups.

Will Young and Gareth Gates, stars of the TV series Pop Idol, have become UK ambassadors for the trust.

The pair, who have not yet been handed their full remit, will act as spokesmen for the trust. Pop Idol finalist Darius Danesh has become an ambassador for The Prince's Trust in Scotland.
