Sense, the deafness and blindness charity, is encouraging supporters to donate through mobile phones without actually making a call.
Supporters can register their mobile phone number online and pledge a donation through the Sense web site. The amount will then be added on to their phone bill at the end of each month.
Emma Clark, web and information officer, said the charity was moving towards a web-based strategy and intended to target a younger audience through these new channels.
"Reaching new people through the internet and other new-media is a priority for us,
she said. "The new mobile phone system will allay fears people may have about online credit card donations."
The charity will also allow people to donate smaller amounts in an effort to provide more flexible ways to give. Sense will continue to use JustGiving.org to process larger donations.
The charity is using the recently launched Ymogen system, designed to provide charities with multiple ways of processing donations. It also plans to develop a system that allows supporters to give through household utility bills.
