The campaigning and development charity Worldwrite is auctioning a range of celebrity mementos at a fundraiser on 4 December to support Ghana's first film school and other projects run by the charity.
Worldwrite supports grass-roots media projects run by people in Ghana, Brazil, India and Uganda. It also runs an educational film facility in east London, which needs new equipment including lighting, sound and digital film cameras.
As part of a youth exchange programme in Ghana, the charity has supported the development of the film school, the Academy of Screen Arts in Accra.
The auction will be compered by TV presenter Simon Amstell. Lots include signed CDs and DVDs from stars such as Samuel L Jackson, and authors Michael Palin and Stephen Fry have donated books.
