Fundraising News: Stonewall appoints Shelter's Cooper to development post

Stonewall has appointed Dale Cooper, currently trusts and foundations manager at Shelter, as development director. He will join next month. Cooper started his career in commercial PR and has worked at Mencap.

He was the marketing and fundraising officer at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation in Manchester.

Stonewall chief executive Ben Summerskill said: "We are delighted to welcome someone of Dale's calibre and experience. He'll be a great asset to our fundraising team as we continue our extensive programme of work around the country."

Cooper, who says he has always admired Stonewall's work, commented: "I'm thrilled to be joining Stonewall and I'm looking forward to developing new ways to fund Stonewall's extensive campaigning and community work."

In his new role, Cooper will be working on projects such as Stonewall's Friends scheme and Equality Dinner.
