Fundraising News: The things they do - Sister pact

Eight Irish sisters set a world record when they all ran in this year's Flora London Marathon to raise funds for Childhood First. The McWilliams sisters, originally from Northern Ireland, all finished the race, with Francesca, 25, coming in first, and Olivia, 24, hobbling on to the end despite sustaining a knee injury only a few miles into the race. Francesca said: "When we decided to run we were attracted to Childhood First because we felt it was only natural to support children who have been less fortunate than ourselves." The other sisters to complete the race were Antoinette, 35, Catherine, 34, Lisa, 29, Marthena, 28, Carmel, 26, and Marian Lucia, 22. It is the first recorded attempt by eight sisters to run a marathon.
