FUNDRAISING NEWS: Warhol prints to be sold to help raise money for Crusaid

Rare Andy Warhol prints are to be sold to raise money for Aids charity Crusaid.

Ten per cent of sales from an art exhibition featuring work by Warhol and artists such as Patrick Demarchelier, Lee Miller and Mel Ramos will go to Crusaid to help extend its work with Aids victims.

The exhibition, which opens on 3 April at Pollock Fine Art in London, will feature some of Warhol's pre-pop works from the 1950s, some of which have never been seen outside the US.

"We hope that the Warhol exhibition will not just be a financial success but also help raise awareness of the charity and the work we're doing,

said Michael Burke, head of events at Crusaid. "Events like these take us to an audience we'd never normally reach and help create a splash at a time when Aids charities are struggling to maintain their profile."

Crusaid hopes that the sale of famous art works will raise a significant amount of money to fund its UK research and care projects.

The charity runs a series of high-profile arts and entertainment events.

In October the charity will run its bi-annual Art Aid event, which raises money through the sale of contemporary art.
