FUNDRAISING NEWS: Wrong Trousers to help kids' hospitals

Children's hospitals and hospices across the UK are set to benefit from a new national fundraising event called Wrong Trousers Day, which will see volunteers donating £1 and wearing trousers that don't match the rest of their outfit.

The appeal, which was inspired by the animated films Wallace and Gromit, builds on the success of a similar event held in the South West which raised £12 million to rebuild Bristol's Royal Hospital for Children.

Wrong Trousers Day will take place on the first Friday in July each year.

This year's event on 4 July is due to raise £5 million.
