Nancy Dell'Olio has lent her image to an online quiz game that is expected to raise at least £10,000 a year for the British Red Cross.
Quiz Queen is a new game on midasplayer.com, the skill-gaming website that attracts hundreds of thousands of players worldwide - around 15 million individual games are played on the site each month. An animated Dell'Olio character features as the game's host. It can be played by up to five players at a time, either for free or for a 35p stake.
The aim is to answer correctly as many questions as possible in the shortest time. After 10 questions, the winner picks up that game's jackpot, but half of each game's proceeds will go to the Red Cross.
Dell'Olio was announced as one of six new Red Cross ambassadors last month (Third Sector, 9 February). She had been introduced to midasplayer.com by its co-founder, Tony Rowland, at the 2004 European Football Championships in Portugal last June.
