Fundraising Standards board identifies new chief executive

Regulatory body will wait until January to name its new leader

The Fundraising Standards Board is expected to announce a new chief executive in the middle of January.

The regulatory body began recruiting in October after the announcement by Jon Scourse, its current chief executive, that he intended to leave at the end of 2008.

The FRSB is believed to have identified a replacement, but would not confirm it.

"It is fair to say we are in talks with one person," said a FRSB spokeswoman. "They are crossing t's and dotting i's at the moment and, until that is done, we can't say someone has been appointed to the role."

Scourse's resignation in September came after the organisation announced it was moving into "a new phase of development" by restructuring membership fees, reducing recruitment targets and introducing an advisory forum to increase member engagement.
