Giving groups are set to join forces

The Association of Payroll Giving Agencies and the Association of Payroll Giving Professional Fundraising Organisations have agreed to merge.

The combined body will aim to provide a stronger voice on payroll giving issues.

The new organisation, which has yet to be named, will be chaired by Caroline Peat, Business in the Community's community investment manager, and will consist of 10 to 15 members. Charities will be invited to join at a later date.

The two organisations have met to discuss the merger and will meet again in August to establish how the organisation will be run and to decide the future of the Association of Payroll Giving Professional Fundraising Organisations' codes of conduct.
