Global GuideStar site to launch

NGOs will be able to search for projects in 11 countries

Not-for-profit data services provider GuideStar International will launch a global site that pulls together information on voluntary sector organisations in 11 countries.

GuideStar provides information on charities and not-for-profit groups and has a site covering UK charities.

It has already set up independent sites based in South Africa, India, Germany and South Korea. Now it is working on a site that will draw together information from those four countries and seven others, including Belgium and Israel.

Buzz Schmidt, president of GuideStar International, said: "Development organisations considering setting up new projects will be able to identify other groups doing the same thing in the same areas."
