Governance steering group seeks chair

The steering group responsible for the ongoing development of the Code of Good Governance is looking for a chair.

The group, which includes Acevo, Charity Trustee Networks and the NCVO, oversaw the code's original development in 2005 and took back responsibility for it when the Governance Hub closed earlier this year (Third Sector Online, 19 March).

A report on the future of the code, carried out by think tank nfpSynergy earlier this year, said tailored versions of the code for different types of charity needed to be produced (Third Sector, 23 July, page 5).

According to the job advert, the chair should have a broad understanding of governance and the voluntary sector and "a track record of strong leadership and effective delivery".

The appointment will be for a fixed term of three years, and the successful candidate will be expected to commit two days per month. Out-of-pocket expenses will be refunded. Anyone interested should email Nicola Busby by 17 December.
