The Great Run Company announces three-year fundraising partnership

The platform Enthuse will support the organisation’s portfolio of events, including the Great North Run

The Great Run Company has announced a three-year partnership with the online fundraising platform Enthuse for its national portfolio of events, including the Great North Run.

Enthuse will support each mass participation event with a branded fundraising platform for charities, event participants and donors, The Great Run Company said in a statement today.

The announcement follows the news earlier this month that Enthuse would be the official online fundraising partner for the London Marathon Events portfolio, after LME’s previous partnership with Virgin Money Giving came to an end last year.

Founded as CharityCheckout in 2011, Enthuse estimates that it has helped more than 4,000 charities raise over £130m.

Announcing the partnership, Paul Foster, chief executive of the Great Run Company, said: “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Enthuse at this critical time for charity fundraising in the UK.

“Our events have always been about giving people the opportunity to achieve something great. We’re incredibly proud of the tangible difference our runners have made through supporting good causes over the last four decades and we’re sure this new partnership will allow many of them to take their fundraising to the next level.”

The partnership will begin with the ballot result announcement for the Great North Run at the end of February, with successful entrants receiving a link to the fundraising platform as part of the registration process.

Participating charities will be able to access insights, analytics and live fundraising and donations data for their supporters, a statement from the Great Run Company said.

Additional features will enable charities to capture any custom data and show the availability of match-funding.
