Up to £2,000 available to community gardens, eco-fairs and education initiatives from part of Kwik Fit Insurance Services Group

The Green Insurance Company has launched a fund offering grants of up to £2,000 to local environmental projects.

The insurer’s Green Grants scheme has a pot of £20,000 to bankroll projects across the UK. Projects eligible for funding include community gardens, local eco-fairs and environmental education initiatives.

"We want to give people throughout the UK the opportunity to make a difference within their communities, and supporting green initiatives is a great way to do this," said Gaynor Wood, head of the Green Insurance Company, which is part of the Kwik Fit Insurance Services Group.

Applications for funding are being taken online and applications must be in by 29 August.
