Hebditch joins board of Social Firms UK

Simon Hebditch, former chief executive of Capacitybuilders, has joined the board of social enterprise Social Firms UK.

Social Firms UK provides employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people by supporting local social enterprises.

Hebditch stood down at the end of his two-year contract to lead Capacitybuilders earlier this year (Third Sector Online, 20 March).

"I will be on the board to increase the visibility and central importance of Social Firms and to show that this specific form of social enterprise is a vital way forward for many parts of the third sector," he said.

Hebditch is also in the process of setting up his own consultancy service.

Sally Reynolds, chief executive of Social Firms UK, said the organisations was "lucky to have him with us on this journey".
