Heritage funder to consult public

Georgina Lock

The Heritage Lottery Fund launched a consultation yesterday to formally open a dialogue with the heritage sector and the public.

Our Heritage, Our Future, Your Say calls on people to give their views in an attempt to inform the fund's next strategic plan for the organisation's work from 2008 to 2013.

The fund is still waiting to hear from the Government how much money it will have to distribute, but expects to see a drop from the current level of £330m a year, possibly to as little as £200m.

The consultation coincides with the Government's consultation on the future of heritage, arts and sports lottery funding, and will look at issues such as diversity, young people and the development of heritage skills and volunteering.
