Demelza Hospice Care for Children has promoted Hayley Richardson to director of fundraising and marketing.
Richardson, who is in her second stint at Demelza, rejoined the charity in 2018 as head of community and events before being promoted to deputy director of fundraising.
She began her fundraising career at the charity in 2009 before going on to work for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Demelza supports children and young people with serious or terminal conditions in Kent, East Sussex and south-east London, through its hospices in Eltham and Sittingbourne, and in the community.
The charity said Richardson’s initial focus would be on preparing the charity’s three-year strategy, which would concentrate on the recovery of income after the coronavirus pandemic subsides.
Richardson said she was delighted to have been given the role at a charity she felt so passionate about.
“This comes at a time when our fundraising has been hugely impacted due to Covid-19 and the families that we care for need us more than ever,” she said.
“While these are challenging times, Demelza will continue to be here for the families that need us.”
