INSTITUTE OF FUNDRAISING: BME project seeks willing charities

The London Black and Minority Ethnic Funding Partnership is a new and innovative partnership comprising the London Development Agency, Institute of Fundraising, Black Training and Enterprise Group and London Voluntary Services Council.

Over a three-year period, the project aims to enable 75 black and minority ethnic voluntary-sector staff to train as professional fundraisers.

The project will employ two full-time development officers who will undertake the Institute of Fundraising Certificate in Fundraising Management qualification.

Although experienced fundraisers, development officers will spend some time working in a major organisation's fundraising department. During this period, they will have the chance to develop the materials they require to complete the certificate.

The Institute of Fundraising is requesting expressions of interest from organisations that can offer placements of up to eight weeks.

During this period, the development officers will be expected to make a substantive contribution to one of your fundraising areas. We are particularly interested in opportunities to demonstrate strategic thinking and planning.

Please contact David Parker, head of training, for more information.
