Institute of Fundraising: Careerbank phase two starts in February

In February 2005, the Institute of Fundraising will be introducing the second phase of Careerbank, the professional development initiative for fundraisers.

Launched in June this year, it is designed to help fundraisers plan and record their professional development and is a key element of the Institute's mission to promote professionalism in fundraising.

Careerbank gives Institute members a framework - the Fundraising Career Pathway - within which they can map their professional development skills.

Careerbank encourages fundraisers to plan and record their skills on a Personal Development Record, allowing them to demonstrate progression.

The second phase will see the introduction of an online professional development centre and forum designed to enable fundraisers to 'meet' online. The forthcoming online facility will ensure the Fundraising Career Pathway and Personal Development Record are publicly available to all fundraisers.

Careerbank is a vital link in the chain that enables the Institute to provide a comprehensive professional development programme, providing the tools needed for fundraisers to achieve their career goals.
