INSTITUTE OF FUNDRAISING: Code of Conduct to be strengthened

This summer's Annual General Meeting had two special resolutions attached to it. These were to agree changes to both the Code of Conduct and the Disciplinary Procedures for members.

We were half successful. The Code of Conduct has been expanded to explain better the standards expected of members. This is available via the web site or by telephone. The Disciplinary Procedures were identified as needing tightening to increase the support to the standards of membership.

In the process of rewriting the disciplinary procedures, various challenges presented by Article 6 of the European Court of Human Rights meant that the special resolution was withdrawn. The trustees are now reworking procedures and they will be presented at a special meeting in the autumn.
