This is about the final countdown to the convention. The programme is all set and the traditional run on the last-minute places is at full speed.
The convention rightly focuses on the detailed Monday workshops and the large choice of sessions. However, another key aspect each year are the plenary sessions. This year we are doing things differently. The mid-convention plenary on the Tuesday morning is following a new format. Titled 'Facing the Future', we aim to create a lively and possibly controversial session.
Quoting from the convention programme: "Both fundraising and the sector face some challenging times ahead. Stealing inspiration from Question Time with a hint of Mastermind and a touch of University Challenge, this is your opportunity to quiz top decision makers on aspects you face in your profession.
"Chair of the Institute Simon Burne will set out the major issues and challenges and then, joined by a panel of leading practitioners, questions will be taken from the floor and our panel will share their expertise and confront the future."
There is no pre-determined agenda, so start thinking up your questions and get ready to challenge the status quo. And if you want one of those last day delegate places for the Tuesday, you'd better hurry.
This column features one aspect of the Convention to be held from 7 to 9 July. To find out more, visit www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk.
