Institute of Fundraising: Fundraising forum to focus on schools

On 25 February, the Institute of Fundraising, Giving Nation (Citizenship Foundation) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations will introduce a unique forum, aimed specifically at fundraisers that work or want to work with secondary schools.

Charity Fundraising in Secondary Schools is a one-day event that offers a series of presentations and workshops delivered by a range of high-profile speakers at NCVO's offices in London. The conference will provide strategic information for charitable organisations looking to raise funds from schools, and offer practical ideas for engaging with young people.

The programme consists of three seminars addressing what makes a "giving" school, the value of citizenship for fundraising charities and the state of play with citizenship programmes in schools. Workshops will take place in the afternoon to enable attendees to explore the most prevalent issues for fundraisers looking to build successful working relationships with secondary schools.

The conference will conclude with an appraisal of Giving Nation's work to promote giving and volunteering in secondary schools, followed by a review of the impact of the Russell Commission on Youth Volunteering for fundraising charities.
