Charity affiliation provides organisations with a chance to work with us to help develop fundraising policy.
The strength of our voice and the authority of the standards we set depend on our members. Engaging with the Institute as a charity affiliate ensures that organisations can influence the development of the fundraising environment.
As a consequence of the current consultation on charity law throughout the UK, we can expect to see a far greater level of self-regulation of fundraising than is currently the case. The Institute has played a major role in this debate. We believe that the codes of practice we have, and will continue to develop with our charity affiliates, will form the basis against which fundraising will be evaluated in the future.
Fundraising is too important to be regulated by the uninformed. Timely access to important information about the issues that affect your work allows your organisation to be able to react effectively.
The benefits of joining the Institute as a charity affiliate are wide-ranging such as contributing to the development of our national policy programme, participation in all consultation on the development of standards, benchmarks and kitemarks.
Members also enjoy regular communication through the "Policy Highlights
email briefing and early notice of UK and European proposals affecting the fundraising environment.
