Charities are being invited to ask their supporters to put them forward to win one of 120 grants of £1,000 from the specialist insurer Ecclesiastical.
Nominations for the grants, which are part of the company’s 12 Days of Giving Christmas campaign, open today.
Anyone can nominate a registered charity using the company’s online form, and winners will be drawn at random, although the more nominations the charity receives, the higher its chances of winning, Ecclesiastical said.
The winners will be announced on Ecclesiastical’s website, Twitter and LinkedIn pages in batches of 10 at a time on each weekday from 5 December to 19 December.
Mark Hews, group chief executive of Ecclesiastical, said: "As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of our business.
"Our annual 12 Days of Giving Christmas campaign will help charities change lives for the better, and we know that for many charities £1,000 can make a real difference.
"We’re encouraging everyone to nominate a cause close to their hearts this Christmas to be in with a chance to win a festive financial boost."
