An internet-based service to help people with disabilities find jobs has been set up by 20 regional disability organisations and the British Council of Disabled People.
Employers can put vacancies on the site and those seeking work can advertise their availability.
The service can be accessed on the websites of the participating organisations, as well as at www. candoindex.co.uk. It is free to employers but job-seekers pay £10 to register for a year.
Users of the site can register their skills using a "pop-up" system, so writing a CV is not necessary. Job-seekers are alerted by text message when an employer shows an interest.
The index, developed by website company Resolute Systems, is designed for use by people with disabilities and older workers who have been made redundant or are economically inactive.
