IoF launches Gift Aid forum for smaller charities

The Institute of Fundraising has launched an online forum to help small and medium-sized charities benefit from Gift Aid.

Visitors to the site can access a network of Gift Aid specialists and professional fundraisers to ask for guidance on using the facility and other methods of tax-effective donations such as payroll giving.

The IoF forum, which is aimed predominantly at small and medium-sized organisations, is broken down into categories such as faith groups, community and amateur sports clubs, youth and education organisations, and gift aid audits, so the right mentor can be assigned to each request.

The site also encourages people to post discussion topics to share ideas, experiences and best practice.

Lee Grant, tax-effective giving project manager at the institute, said: "It is intended to complement the tax-effective giving resources already provided by the institute to encourage small and medium charities in making best use of the full range of tax reliefs."
