IoF releases new trustees' guide

The Institute of Fundraising has launched a fundraising guide for charity trustees.

The Trustees Guide to Fundraising contains updates on self-regulation and trustee obligations that have resulted from the Charities Act 2006. It includes sections on fundraising techniques and principles, tax-effective giving and law and ethics.

"Trustees have a responsibility to secure the resources needed to fulfil the strategic goals of their organisations and to ensure that their charities continue to make a significant impact," said Lindsay Boswell, chief executive of the institute.

The project is funded by the institute's tax-effective giving initiative.

Copies cost £10 for non-members and £5 for members. A limited number of free copies are also available, and the guide can be downloaded from the institute's website.
