Westhead has been a BBC education and social affairs correspondent for the past 10 years. Westhead said he was excited to be taking on the job. "I'm looking forward to building on the momentum of the organisation's growth in the past year to help Teach First to continue to increase its impact on the country's most challenging schools," he said. "After a decade of reporting on apparently intractable social problems, I now want to use the insights and experience I have gathered to help tackle them."
