Letts selected to lead review body

The former chair of the Long-term Medical Conditions Alliance, Melinda Letts, has been appointed as the new chairwoman of the National Strategic Partnership Forum.

The forum was establish-ed last September to review the Strategic Agreement between the Department of Health and the voluntary sector, which is intended to reinforce the Compact. It will report to ministers and address obstacles the sectors face in working together.

Letts is also a former chief executive of the National Asthma Campaign and former trustee of the NCVO. She said: "The forum has the chance to make a real difference to the delivery of health and social care services."

The 25 forum members, half of whom are from charities, were chosen from more than 100 applicants.
