Lighting the way

A child holds a Christingle in Westminster Abbey as part of this year's Christmas celebrations by The Children's Society. More than 600 schoolchildren took part in the event, which adopted the theme "shine a light on bullying". The charity runs projects across the country that work with the victims of bullying as well as children who bully others. Graham Knight, schools inclusion project leader at the society, said: "Nearly all of us have been bullied at some point in our lives and we know the emotional scars it leaves." A Christingle is an orange decorated with a candle, red ribbon, fruit and sweets.
