Living wage for London workers

London Mayor Ken Livingstone has responded to campaigning by civic activism charity London Citizens to calculate a living wage for Londoners.

Livingstone said last week that all people in work in the capital should be paid at least £6.70 an hour. This compares with the national adult minimum wage of £4.85 per hour.

But Livingstone has yet to make good on other commitments to set up a Living Wage Unit in City Hall and pay the wage to all Greater London Authority workers.
