The local infrastructure body Navca has appointed Judy Robinson as its next chair.

Robinson, who has been on the Navca board since 2015, is chair of Healthwatch Sheffield, the consumer watchdog for health and social care services in Sheffield, and a trustee of Voluntary Action Rotherham

She was previously chief executive of the local infrastructure organisation Involve Yorkshire and Humber.

Robinson succeeds Alison Semmence, who became interim chair after the departure of John Tizard, who stepped down after seven months in the role in July last year.

Navca said last year it was moving away from asking members to elect its chair and instead would enable its board to make the appointment

Robinson said of her appointment: “Infrastructure is so important for supporting strong, modern and diverse social action. I want to work with members, stakeholders and allies to make sure Navca is at the heart of fresh thinking and practical support for infrastructure.”

Navca said that Angela White, chief executive of Sefton CVS, and Kerrie Fletcher, chief executive of South Derbyshire CVS, had been appointed as trustees.

They will replace Will Lindesay and Carole Phillips, who have come to the end of their terms.
