London Community Recycling Network changes name to avoid 'binman of the third sector' tag

Social enterprise now known as London Community Resource Network

Social enterprise the London Community Recycling Network has changed its name to the London Community Resource Network.

The sustainability and community organisation does not want to be seen as "the binman of the third sector" because it says its work is much more diverse than the old name suggested.

"Because we're working with re-use, we're working with organics, with carbon, with employment and skills, with enterprise support, community cohesion," said Matthew Thomson, chief  executive of the LCRN. "Resource is a word that somehow links all of those very different work areas."
