Look for the charities with tick, FRSB tells donors

The Fundraising Standards Board has launched its first campaign to raise public awareness of its work.

The two-week promotion, taking place in Hull, involves posters throughout the city asking people to look for the FRSB's tick logo on any fundraising material if they are approached for donations. Leaflets will also be distributed from libraries, leisure centres and council offices in the city.

The campaign is a joint initiative between the FRSB, Hull City Council and Hull Community Voluntary Services.

"It will ensure that local people can take some simple steps that will give them some reassurance when considering donating to a charity," said Samantha Wilson, marketing manager at the FRSB.

"By checking that it is an FRSB member, the public can be confident that the charity has committed to fundraising practice which is open, legal and fair and that it will deal with any concerns and complaints about its fundraising activity."
