Comedian Barry Humphries, aka Dame Edna Everage, is one of several celebrities photographed to raise funds for Trinity Hospice in south London.

Photographer Rich Hardcastle has tried to capture the personality and mood of his subjects by snapping them slightly off guard. Each subject has added a joke or comment to their print and hand-signed 50 copies, which will be sold for between £400 and £500.

The photographs are part of Larger than Life, a fundraising project due to run for two years, with more stars joining all the time. Actors Kevin Spacey and Jeff Goldblum, comedians Ricky Gervais and Jack Dee, and rugby players Martin Johnson CBE and Willie John McBride are already taking part. Comedians Russell Brand and Paul Merton, and Private Eye editor Ian Hislop have also signed up.

The limited-edition prints can be viewed and purchased online at Trinity Hospice’s website. One special canvas edition of each print - signed and embellished by the celebrity subject - will be auctioned off when the Larger Than Life project comes to a close.
