Men would miss football to score

John Plummer

Nearly two-thirds of men would miss England World Cup games to have sex, according to research by the Mental Health Foundation.

The charity also discovered 76 per cent of males would not be embarrassed to hug their friends while watching football and that 35 per cent of men admitted to crying while watching a game.

"It is encouraging that football makes it easier for men to talk about their feelings because, traditionally, men are far less likely than women to share their innermost thoughts," said Andrew McCulloch, chief executive of the Mental Health Foundation.
