Mencap promotes Jan Tregelles to top role

Plus Annie Hudson, David Cox, Paul Newman, Sebastien Ergas, Sherine Mahmoud and Julian Morgan

- The learning disability charity Mencap has promoted Jan Tregelles from director of personal support to chief executive. She has been acting chief executive since January.

Annie Hudson- Annie Hudson (right) has been appointed as the first chief executive of the College of Social Work, the charity that supports and represents social work. She will join in the summer from Bristol City Council, where she is strategic director for children, young people and skills.

- The Benevolent, the charity for the drinks industry, has appointed David Cox as chief executive. He was European director of New Zealand Winegrowers and takes over from Paul Newman, who will head the care provider the Greensleeves Homes Trust.

- The venture philanthropy charity the Impetus Trust has appointed Sebastien Ergas as investment director and Sherine Mahmoud as investment manager. Ergas joins from the Monitor Group and Mahmoud from the Grameen Foundation.

Julian Morgan- Julian Morgan (right), former economic adviser to the European Central Bank, has been named chief economist of the charity Green Alliance.
