Merger for payroll giving umbrellas

The Association of Payroll Giving Organisations is to be launched formally on 9 October.

The body, formed from the merger of the Association of Payroll Giving Agencies and the Association of Payroll Giving Professional Fundraising Organisations (Third Sector, 25 July), aims to increase the profile of payroll giving.

Its fee-paying members include Workplace Giving UK, Payroll Giving in Action, the Charities Aid Foundation, Ben - the Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund, and South West Charitable Giving.

The group is chaired by Caroline Peat, Business in the Community's national community investment manager, and will meet six times a year.

Peter O'Hara, managing director of Workplace Giving, said: "We are keen to promote our profile so third sector media and HR media know the benefits of the scheme."
