Charities should try to make their investments inflation-proof over the next year, according to investment management firm Baring Asset Management. The company predicts that inflation will increase and has recommended that charities guard against rising prices by moving investments to inflation-protected bonds, emerging market commodities, gold and overseas properties.
Venture philanthropy charity the Impetus Trust has announced that it will make Street League, a charity that uses sport to help socially disadvantaged people, its 11th charity investment. The trust intends to use its investment to help the charity grow, and will supplement direct investment by securing pro-bono advice and co-investment.
